Introduction to the history of life through time and evolution of the major groups of vertebrates; emphasis on mammals and their evolutionary history in the Cenozoic of eastern Africa. Use fossil record to study past climates and environments. Main methods used in paleoecological and paleoenvironmental reconstruction. Turkana Basin Field School, Kenya, Africa.
