01:070:317 Method and Analysis in Cultural Anthropology

3 credits

Course Description: Designing and implementing research projects: formulating problems; selecting methodologies; methods of collecting, constructing, and analyzing qualitative, quantitative, and textual data (emphasis on computer-based techniques). Training in participant-observation, census and questionnaire construction and coding, interview techniques, and narrative analysis. Prerequisite: 01:070:101 or permission of instructor.
