Declaring a Major or Minor in Anthropology
If you wish to declare either a major or a minor concentration in Anthropology, you can obtain a Major/Minor Declaration/Change form, complete it, and turn it in at one of the advising centers; or see Maydelle Romero, Undergraduate Program Assistant (RAB 318), to complete and submit this form. Department signatures are not required.

- follow the instructions
Important: All students should declare their majors in Anthropology by the Spring semester of their junior year, at the latest. The department assumes no responsibility for students unable to complete their major requirements if they do not declare their majors by this time.
After you declare your major, you should complete an advising form. Advising forms should be updated yearly and must be updated prior to graduation. You can download the form that applies to your specific program using one of these links:

You can deliver your advising form to Maydelle or to Professor David Hughes, Undergraduate Program Director, during his office hours, or mail it, or fax it to 732-932-1564. Please be sure to include your contact information (email address and telephone number) so that advisors can reach you if they need to discuss your program. Contact Professor Hughes if you have any questions regarding your anthropology major or minor requirements.
Please note that special permission numbers are obtained through the professor or instructor of the class. Prior to registering for Independent Study and Anthropology Departmental Honors Classes, please see the Undergraduate Director.
